No matter where we live there is beauty to be found. The Edgelands are those areas where wilderness exists either inside or on the fringes of built-up residential or industrial areas. I spent two afternoons going in search of these places of natural beauty in Carluke. Places of peace which can often be reached in a few minutes from schools, homes or the town centre.
Carluke is a place surrounded by beautiful countryside. A walk around the perimeter of the town, from the train station to John Cummings Stadium will reward you with some wonderful views of the surrounding fields and hills as it takes you through some remarkably photogenic woodland.
