Contract Length: 3rd October – 31st March (2.5 days per week @ £8.25 p/h)
Working on an exciting large scale Arts and Heritage project; we are looking for an individual who is local to South Lanarkshire and would like to work within a fast paced and dynamic project as a Local Project assistant.
Over the coming months we will be delivering a series of artistic interventions, workshops and wayfinding as part of the Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership (CAVLP) programme. This activity is to be undertaken to promote active travel, increase awareness of arts and heritage in the area and to increase people’s participation in Art and Heritage activity.
Thanks to funding from the Smarter Choices, Smarter Places grant and Heritage Lottery support for Clyde and Avon Valley, we will be working with communities in Larkhall, Lanark, Carluke, Stonehouse and Glassford to promote walking and cycling. This will be done through a diverse and engaging set of mechanisms to include creative workshops, route identification, digital mapping and an on-the-ground campaign.You will be working directly with icecream architecture but also with the wider CAVLP team.
The job role will include:
- Developing local contacts and networks supporting workshop leaders in delivering workshops
- Supporting the development and making of temporary interventions (rural and urban)
- Support in reporting of project outcomes
- Adhoc photography and social media
Experience or skills that would be beneficial:
- Experience of project administration
- Experience working in a team
- Experience in supporting workshops with children and adults
- Artistic or creative interests or experience Art / Heritage experience and /or interest
The role will require you to work across Carluke, Larkhall, Lanark, Stonehouse and Glassford.
Own transport is beneficial, though the project promotes the use of active travel whenever possible such as public transport, walking and cycling.
