Little people go exploring at Clearburn Natural Play Area

Paddling, campfires and woodland antics

Children from Little People nursery in Lanark spent a lovely winter morning visiting the fantastic new Clearburn Natural Play and Picnic Area at New Lanark.

The burn was the main attraction and the intrepid explorers were not deterred by the odd wet foot as they built bridges and stepping stones across it and paddled through it. Afterwords they built a campfire and cooked marshmallows in the purpose built fire pit.

The beauty of Clearburn is that as well as having play equipment, it also allows safe access to ‘wild’ areas like the burn and surrounding woods. The children made their own play through their desire to discover the area. Lovely to watch, and fun no matter the season.
