Challenge your limits on a weighted trek along the Clyde Walkway. The endurance event route will follow the banks of the Clyde, starting at the Falls of Clyde Visitor Centre and ending outside the Glasgow Science Centre.

The Challenge

Participants must carry a 6kg load in addition to personal kit and can choose to complete one of three distances within a set time:

  • MAD Master - 35 miles in 12 hours. Our toughest option, starting at 9am at the Falls of Clyde visitors centre.

  • MAD Mover - 19 miles in 6 hours. Our middle distance walk starts at 3pm at Strathclyde Country Park.

  • MAD Starter - 8 miles in 3 hours. Short but intense, this route begins at 6pm at Cambuslang and finishs with everyone else outside the Science Centre.

At average walking speed (3mph), these start times leave little room for rest in making the event finish time of 9pm. With added weight and potential navigational errors, you have yourself a MAD Challenge...

For those that like their challenges extra MAD, go for glory and see what record you can set!

A different kind of sponsorship...

MAD Challenges works with Do Nation - an online platform for collecting sponsorhip in the form of Do Actions.

Do Actions are cost-free commitments of small but significant changes in habit. They're designed to improve your health, be kind on your wallet and reduce our collective impact on the landscape and air that we all share.

All particpants of MAD Clyde are expected to gather Do Nation pledges as part of their entry. A good target to aim for is getting 25 people to pledge one or more actions. Let's see who can raise the most pledges!
