Inspired by the Oaks - Scenery Stroll at Chatelherault

Join CAVLP Heritage in framing the Landscape on 6 Saturdays from February 11^th to March 18^th.  Framing the Landscape invites participants to experience the landscape in a new way and learn about the contributions of a selection of Local Landscape Heroes.  These series of FREE outdoor events will take a look at figures that have been inspired by the landscape or have made an impact on it in some way – through the use of art, literature and old photographs.  

Join us at Chatelherault and explore the artwork inspired by the Avon Water and Cadzow Oaks.  Learn about the painters who were inspired by the natural beauty of the Avon Valley landscape.  Explore the lives and influences of the artists and what brought them to this area of natural beauty in the first place.   Examine the depictions of people living and working in the Cadzow forest – how was the landscape used in past centuries? What other information about the past can we learn from art?
