Dye Plant Foraging Walk
Create Natural Dyes with CAVLP Heritage!
Prior to the Industrial Revolution, people would collect wild plants to create vibrantly coloured dyes for their clothing. We are going to celebrate this tradition of textile creation and use the landscape to help us create some natural dyes of our own! On this FREE walk, we will introduce a number of common plants used to create colourful dyes for wool, as well as learn a little bit about responsible foraging.
We will meet in front of the New Lanark Visitor's Centre at 2pm on Sunday, the 3rd of July and Friday, the 8th of July. Please wear appropriate footwear, and bring along a pair of gardening gloves and pruning or kitchen shears if you can!
The collected dye plants will be saved for a later natural dye workshop.
Booking is essential! Please book your place at http://cavlp.eventbrite.com
